And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho,

That he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold,

There stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand:

And Joshua went unto him, and said unto him,

“Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?”

But he said, “I am the captain of the host,

Listen to the Lord’s command:

The gates to the city were surrounded by the Children.

None came out, and none went in.

The Lord said “Joshua, see I have given thee Jericho in thy hand”

Joshua returned and said unto the people and the priests,

“Get ready, we’re marching unto Jericho

With seven priests and seven loud trumpets,

Now listen to the Lord’s command:
